Chinese Celebrity Street Style: 3 Styles Inspired by Yang Mi

As one of China’s highest paid actresses, aside from having starred in a number of memorable TV dramas, Yang Mi (杨幂) also demonstrates that she has a taste for good styles. As feminine as many Chinese (and Asian) celebrities are, you can tell that they are also inspired by the comfort and practicality of American and European street styles.

I absolutely dig everything about this comfortable and chic outfit. Simple and classic, I’m sure you’ve have at least two or more of these pieces in your wardrobe already. Pair a dark chiffon blouse with classic black skinnies; contrast with a pair of all-purpose white sneakers. Finally, the highlight of the show is certainly that gray long duster cardigan that is both practical and bound to turn heads on the streets — I know I would!

The most feminine and put together of the three outfits, this can be a versatile outfit for the working office woman and an easily transferrable outfit for a wild night out. While the leather skirt might be a bit wild for the office, it would work wonders for the woman who works in the creative space. With it’s edginess, it’s the perfect transferrable piece to hit the bar for drinks. Switch out your traditional pointy-toed heels for a pair of mesh peep-toe bootie heels for a more open-ended evening!

The drapey trench coat has been my go-to piece for most of 2015. It’s an easy, effortless, and fashionable piece that can be thrown on top of jeans and sweaters. Yang Mi chose to wear hers with a simple white top, white loafers, and a denim button-down skirt, which is another seasonal favorite trend of mine. While her choice of a turquoise crossbody is a tad bit too trendy for me, if you’re a “handbag girl” and already own it in your wardrobe, why not?

Thoughts?

Would you wear any of these outfits? Which one is your favorite? Outfits inspired by celebrities are all about switching one piece out for another so I wouldn’t follow everything they wear 100% of the time.
