Hong Kong Celebrity Street Style: Nicole Leung, Becky Lee, Angel Chiang

I don’t know about you, but when I think about “street style”, the first thing that comes to mind is the blend of practicality and chic. This usually calls for jeans and a leather jacket or jeans and something else. This week AF brings to you something a bit more feminine, something that is appropriate for the more girly girls, yet still down-to-earth, simple, and freshly baked with our favorite closest neutral colors. This week we showcase Nicole Leung (梁麗翹), Becky Lee (李璧琦), and Angel Chiang (蔣家旻), all who are new to the Celebrity Street Style feature.

Nicole Leung’s Sweet Girl Look

The Miss Hong Kong 2011 finalist and now TVB’s MC host, Nicole Leung, appeared in a girly, yet neutral and comfortable getup. It seems like despite the rainy and gloomy weather in HK, it hasn’t impacted her mood one bit. Coming from a pageant background, Nicole knows a little bit more about beauty and styling than the average girl.

She was spotted in a navy knit circle skirt that she paired with a white flared-sleeve eyelet top. Over-the-knee boots are the most chic way to balance out two feminine pieces while still staying warm, cozy, and tough for the winters. She accessorized with a long stone-pendant necklace and a few bangles.

Becky Lee: How to Layer Shades of Blue

Becky, while barely a C-lister in TVB dramas, recently shared some photos of a very comfortable, classic, and neutral ensemble. While we all have some form of the button-down shirt, sweater, and cardigan in our closets, I absolutely love the play on blue and white gradient layering that reminds me of the frosty winters. Not afraid to wear double layers of knit, she topped her sweater with a cardigan, which I’ve found easier to wear in theory than in reality. Anyone else have this issue of wearing the layers of knit?

The key to more comfort is an oversized and/or thicker cardigan. However, I would just skip the cardigan all-together and go with an oversized hoodie or coat since the former tends to sag.

She finalized the outfit with basic winter essentials: a white scarf, dark-washed denim, and high boots.

Angel Chiang: From Office Straight to Night Out

It’s not often that Angel impresses with her style, but pleated everything is in for 2016. While Angel does a good job pairing a cream knit sweater with a midi pleated skirt, the outfit would have been more proportional if she ditched the leggings and wore a pair of pointy-toed pumps. From red carpet to street style, Fan Bing Bing and Christine Kuo demonstrates that pointy-toed pumps are the classiest way to dress up the conservative skirt.

Since her top and skirt were very conservative, leggings and sneakers did her no favor for a public appearance.

This is a great look for anyone who works in the creative space with a more flexible dress code policy. Both good for day time and night time, the neutrals and pastels are soft enough for an appropriate office color, but it’s still dressy and warm enough for a night out in the winter. Valentine’s Day is coming up, look no further than this ensemble!
