If there is any bag that I find stylish these days, it’s definitely a nice small (to medium-sized) black leather backpack otherwise known to me as the “little black backpack.” I’ve discovered that small to medium sized backpacks look especially cute and chic on petite girls, especially elevating the chicness with a pair of ankle boots. It’s one of those situations where I can fit more things in a bigger sized bag without appearing overwhelmed by the size of a large tote bag. While I love my crossbody bags, I can only wear one that’s so big without it looking awkward on my petite frame. In other words, big crossbody bags aren’t proportionate with my shape. With a backpack though, there is more opportunity for compromise when it comes to choosing a size.
The “little black backpack” is the perfect companion between keeping your hands free while being travel-friendly and jetset-ready!
Sole Society – I bought one similar to this (but that one is sold out online already), but this has a rounder shape and appears to have a patent leather finish. The gold zipper details makes the backpack appear more luxurious than its price tag really is. The pockets and compartments also allow you to organize your things if you have the need to compartmentalize.
Michael Kors – Simple and refined, this one by MK is as practical and classic as it gets. All black everything makes up this backpack, but if you want something that is a little bigger and fits your Macbook, this is the one.
MCM – Although this one is seen too frequently on Asian girls when I was in HK, it’s definitely for a good reason. I’m not a fan of any designer bags with their logos splattered all over their bags, but this one really gives off a tough exterior, both in leather quality, shape, and vibe.
Anya Hindmarch – While browsing through the backpack options, I can’t help but fall for the cute designs in Anya Hinmarch’s collection. The quality is definitely there for the price they charge not to mention it’s less common than MCM’s leather backpacks. Anya’s backpacks are definitely for the quirky girl who has a desire for nice, quality bags.
Rebecca Minkoff – So far, most of the backpacks above has a sleek, modern design, but this one by Rebecca Minkoff is for the boho, festival girl. If you don’t care that the backpack is everywhere, it’s still the best deal for something between affordable and soft. It’s popularity is for a good reason.
